About DEXLIT
DEXLIT GmbH develops and manufactures custom illuminated deck systems in Lübeck, Germany. Founded in September 2025, the company combines light-guiding acrylic construction, digital LEDs and project-specific surfaces to make the deck itself part of the lighting design.
Its range includes white-light DEXLIT, interactive RGBW DEXLIT PRO and temperature-controlled DEXLIT ULTRA. Modules are made for the dimensions and design of each installation.
Our story
On most yachts, lighting is something added to the deck: fittings, strips and fixtures placed around the surface. DEXLIT started from the opposite question. Instead of lighting the deck, why not build the light into it?
That idea became a modular deck made from light-guiding acrylic with digital LEDs inside, finished with the surface the owner chooses. By day it looks like a deck. By night it becomes part of the yacht's design.
2025
DEXLIT GmbH is founded in Lübeck in September and files its first patent application, for deck lighting integrated into the deck construction itself.
METSTRADE 2025
DEXLIT joins the Superyacht Startup Zone at METSTRADE in Amsterdam and is nominated for a DAME Design Award.
2026
A second patent application follows, adding heating and cooling to the deck. It becomes DEXLIT ULTRA: a deck that stays comfortable underfoot in winter and summer.

c.urbschat@dexlit.comProcess
DEXLIT works with the owner’s team or yard to define the application, surface and light design before producing the modules. Survey and design information are brought together in a digital model of the installation.

The surface, pattern, lighting behavior and product line are agreed around the intended use. Logos, lettering and interactive areas are included in the design before production.

Portable 3D laser scanning can be carried out on board worldwide. Suitable outline information can also be supplied by the yard or customer for assessment.

Scan data and design are developed into a digital twin. Modules are CNC-machined and fitted with LEDs in Lübeck, with sensors and fluid channels included where specified.

DEXLIT technicians or partner yards bond or screw the modules into place, connect the electrical system and commission the installation. Ready-to-fit modules can also be supplied for yard installation.
Typical lead time is one week to two months from laser scan to installation, depending on scope. Individual modules can be replaced if damaged, and software updates can be delivered without removing the deck.
Network
Installations can be completed by DEXLIT technicians or partner yards. The company’s European partner network includes Italy, including Sardinia, Croatia, Greece, Poland, Finland, Turkey, Spain and Portugal.
Project planning defines who will carry out the survey, preparation, installation and commissioning.
